About Us

We are two moms living in Chicago who met each other through our school PTO and started creating projects together. We both have a love of tiny things inspired by the magic of childhood. This website is inspired by fairy tales, nursery rhymes, magic, and classic literature. Children create a "small world land" in their head when they play, when they read, and when they create. These small worlds can inspire all of us.

  1. Hi ladies :) I couldn't find an email on the blog to contact you... I found you via one of your posts on Craftgawker and see that you post adorable crafts for kids! I'm the owner of both Crafts by Amanda and Fun Family Crafts. I am a regular contributor to Craftgawker myself and have a routine when a new post goes up. I go to Craftgawker and several other sites and submit it for inclusion. Well Fun Family Crafts is very similar to Craftgawker, except that I only feature kid friendly tutorials. There are no Etsy listings, no round ups, no adult crafts, and definitely no links out to posts without a tutorial - just kid's crafts and edible crafts. :)

I wanted to invite you to submit any kid friendly tutorials or edible crafts you have, even if they are older posts in your archives. Just like Craftgawker, I don't use your tutorial, I just link out to it, and people that submit regularly tell me that Fun Family Crafts is always in their top 5 or 10 referrers! The traffic has been growing by about 25% per year and it's doing great. While there are plenty of visitors, I don't think the word has gotten out enough to crafty bloggers who post tutorials, so they are missing out on an additional source of traffic! It's also not a beauty contest like it is on Craftgawker. My mission is to find and provide my audience with as many kid friendly crafts as possible so that they don't have to go searching. The benefit is double-sided, visitors have thousand of craft projects by category to choose from and bloggers like you (and me) get traffic and new visitors to their posts.

I'd love to have you submit your kid's projects. You do have to register, just like with Craftgawker, but it's easy. A username, email and password is all that's needed then you can begin submitting right away. Here's the submission guidelines http://funfamilycrafts.com/submit-a-craft/ (most important to note is that we do allow watermarks, but not additional text or borders, etc), and once you are registered and logged in, you will see the submit form appears on the right hand side. Hope you'll decide to submit and also let any other craft bloggers know about the site, provided you are happy with the traffic it brings you. :)

Let me know if you have any questions!
